Collecting Professor’s philosophical literature pieces, articles, valuable wordings, and other information was a challenge for us. Designing the biography in such a way to express that beauty through a layout was the biggest challenge Burgundy had.
“Lotus” has been taken as the iconography for the book design due to its connection with Buddhist culture and the spiritual relationship it has had since ancient times. Most importantly, Lotus matches with most of the Professor’s work, literature and his aspirational lifestyle.
The book launch was successful. The chief guest was His excellency President of Sri Lanka, Maithripala Sirisena and the keynote speech was given by the honourable minister Dr Sarath Amunugama.
Burgundy has won the award for the best Buddhist editorial of the year 2018 at the National Buddhist Literature Festival 2018, conducted by the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress and the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs
